All OSM variants require two input tables that describe, respectively:
· Stand-level or plot-level inventory attributes
· Tree-level inventory attributes
Information in these two tables is linked by one column ‘SurveyID’.
This documentation only describes additional columns defined by the Acadian Variant. See OSM documentation on input tables for all columns required or recognized.

Management Code: · None (no recent management history; > 25 years) · PartialCut (partial harvest < 25 years ago; extensive management) · Clearcut (<25 years old, no regeneration management) · PCT (was pre-commercially thinned) · Plant (planted and intensively managed through rotation). |
IsGoodSite |
Boolean |
True
| False |
True |
This
is a productivity site call made visually by field crews in NL inventory
plots, known as ‘Actual Site’. High and Good sites should be set to True, and
Moderate and Poor site calls as False. |
MAT |
Float |

or Null |
3 |
NL
mean annual temperature (MAT) for plot location and elevation. Extracted
using Climate NA Normals
for 1961-1990. Used by the NL tree height model. Ranges from -2 to 7 degrees
Celsius. |
IsBarren |
Boolean |
True
| False |
False |
If
the NL ecoregion is considered barren, set to true;
e.g., Coastal Barrens EcoRegion. This
variable influences diameter growth if site index models are used, but
otherwise has no use in the model. Site index based
diameter growth models were developed but are not currently used by the
Variant, so this variable may be removed in later versions. |

The Acadian ingrowth model still depends on Climate Index, but this variable as little effect on this model and the default value of 13.5 is the average for the Acadian forest region. This was lowered to 10.0 for NL. |
See OSM documentation on input tables. No additional tree attributes defined by the Acadian Variant.
